Best Game Changing Rhino Commands

1. HEIGHTFIELD

This command created fascinating results with relatively simple steps. You can turn any image intro a 3d relief based on the grey values, essentially what is also known in VFX as a depth map. You can output the results as a mesh or a nurbs surface, ready for rendering, 3d printing, milling, or any other process.

2. CAGE EDIT

Sometimes you need to tweak an organic or curved object in a nuanced way that more technical processes won't allow. Cage edit is an imperative tool for any sculptor's arsenal. You can create subdivisions on a bounding box in order to manipulate the contained geometry without concerning yourself too much about its topology.

3. UV EDIT

I'm a big advocate of learning new tools and using them to the best of their ability. Rendering is not part of Rhino's strong suits, however it can be useful to texture objects within the software for quick views or stylized diagrams. Many people I've taught don't know there's actually a comprehensive tool for editing how an image texture is mapped on an object.

4. BRIDGE
